I thought the advertising photos of the Acropolis might have showed it closer than it actually was. However, the photos are accurate. We were on the Acropolis side, and we had a great view day and night. Evita, a waitress in the rooftop restaurant, is very professional, knowledgeable, and speaks English very well. The front desk personnel, doormen/baggage handlers were also excellent. The included breakfast buffet is loaded with every option you could think of, and deliciously prepared, and properly laid out. Just be careful of the little birds at breakfast in the open area. They will quickly swoop in and make quick work of unattended plates (Hahahaha-They constantly amused us with their antics)! We are in our mid 70's, and we were able to walk from the hotel to Monastiraki Square, Syntagma Square, the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, and the Plaka district. The Temple of Olympic Zeus, and Hadrian's Arch-Athens are directly across the street from the Athens Gate Gate. It was a quick taxi ride to Lycabettus Hill ($8 Euros - negotiated - and we added a $2 Euros tip). Wonderful views of the sprawling Athens area, and the port of Pareus; a real gem! If you're older like us, ride the funicular. You can walk to the top and back if you're up to it. We used a service called "Welcome Pickup" for the transfer from Pareus port to the hotel, and subsequently from the hotel to the airport several days later. Both drivers were very professional. The service can be booked, and paid for, ahead of time, providing peace of mind.

Great location, a 5 minute walk to the entrance of the Acropolis gardens, situated on the edge of the Plaka district with its attractive streets, houses, shops and restaurants, a 20 minute walk to Monastiraki and its Roman agora, market and restaurants, a 10 minute walk to the national garden, a 15 minute walk to Syntagma Square and line 3 metro and x95 bus to the airport. All the staff - receptionists, restaurant and bar staff, cleaners - were friendly and welcoming. Room (#404 on the main street side) was comfortable for a three night stay; the double glazed balcony windows reduced the street noise to barely noticeable; bathroom clean on arrival and kept clean during our stay, good shower, toiletries. Stunning view of the Acropolis from the restaurant / bar on the eighth floor. Excellent selection of fresh items for breakfast.

Overlooking the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Athens Gate is located pleasantly just 10 mins walk away from the Acropolis. The highlight is the roof-top dining area with the an exquisite view of the monument, check pictures. Beautiful breakfast spread, nice mix of continental and Greek items, many vegetarian options. The grape leaf wraps were really good. Our room was nice but excessively hot and noisy and they didn't have the air conditioning running. Comparatively cozy, read small fot two but amenities were fine. Nice bathroom. We had a quiet and delicious lunch at the roof top restaurant. The staff is very polite. They even allowed a late check out. Wish we had a better room and longer stay!

Location was brilliant ! A few minutes walk to acropolis / Plaka and easy to find ! Travelled as a solo female and felt exceptionally safe in this area. Staff were amazing, especially breakfast staff, very attentive and I even witnessed the staff taking photos for guests on the terrace 😍 I mean it would be rude not to get a picture there, views are stunning with acropolis visible one side and temple of Zeus the other ! I ate in the restaurant one of the evenings and the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented ! Waitress again super helpful and nothing was too much bother ! Rooms were cleaned to a great standard every day. Highly recommend 💗 Thank you for having me 💗

Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The stunning view of the Acropolis was truly mesmerizing, creating a magical atmosphere both day and night. However, what truly set this place apart was the outstanding customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a seamless and memorable experience, always attentive, courteous, and eager to assist with any request. Their warmth and professionalism truly define hospitality at its best. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Athens!
